Danny Sparks began his real estate career in 2002 at KB Home, one of the nation's largest publicly traded homebuilders. As a recent graduate, KB Home provided an ideal foundation, where he gained hands-on experience during the height of the U.S. residential real estate boom. Over the course of several years, he held key roles including Construction Superintendent, Project Manager, and Land Acquisition Associate—experiences he still considers fundamental to his professional development.
In 2006, Danny joined Hearthstone Advisors, an institutional equity advisor representing some of the country’s largest pension funds. As Vice President of Investment Management, he was responsible for underwriting and asset management of residential projects nationwide, overseeing more than $500 million in equity investments. Over his eight-year tenure, Danny took on increasing leadership responsibilities, broadening his expertise and deepening his experience on the capital side of real estate development.
In 2013, Danny became Regional Director of Asset Management at Mountain Real Estate Capital (MREC), an advisor to private equity real estate funds. Based on the West Coast, he led underwriting and asset management efforts, helped scale the regional presence, and played a key role in establishing best-in-class processes for investment analysis, reporting, and portfolio oversight.
Recognizing a gap in the institutional real estate market for responsive, high-caliber investment and asset management services, Danny founded Harvest in January 2018. The firm was created to deliver customized, strategic solutions to institutional and private capital partners.
Danny earned his degree in City and Regional Planning from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, with a minor in Real Property Development. He lives in San Diego with his wife and two sons, and enjoys staying active and involved in his local community.
